COLLECT RETAIL PURCHASE DATA DIRECTLY FROM CONSUMERS 

A large market research company wanted to study customers’ grocery purchasing behavior. Generally, research agencies rely heavily on scanning data collected at the point of sale or directly from customers. However, it is difficult to get all major retailer chains to cooperate, and with millions of receipts to process, it is time-consuming and expensive. 

 

In 2016,  OurCart’s white label solution has been selected to launch a mobile receipt capture panel in the United Kingdom. Since then, the app, named Shopprize, has been tested extensively and has collected purchase data from specific retailers.

 

OurCart automated the tedious process of gathering and interpreting receipts from customers. After two years, OurCart is collecting an astonishing 200,000 receipts each month from a user base of 6,000 active users. Following the success of this project, the market research company decided to launch Shopprize in multiple other markets. 

 

INCREASE REVENUE BY CREATING A LOYALTY APP

A large CPG (consumer packaged goods) manufacturer, wanted to increase revenue by creating a powerful loyalty program. To do this, the  worked with one of the world’s largest ageincies.

 

Together with OurCart, the agency developed a direct to consumer loyalty app for the CPG where consumers collect points by snapping their receipt as proof of purchase. OurCart’s receipt interpretation technology extracted all data fields and identified all purchased products on the UPC level. These were then combined with the CPG's first party data.

 

With complete information on their target loyal customers, the CPG company consistently delivered highly targeted offers through the loyalty app.  After three years, the company has collected product level purchase data and successfully incentivized customers to purchase its products. An increase of 15%-30% in sales has been measured by prioritizing and providing rewards to higher value loyal customers every time they purchased the companies products.

 

GROW APP USAGE, ENGAGEMENT,  USAGE AND SALES

A large American company created an app that offers users rewards for shopping activities both online and in-stores. One of the main activities is motivating customers to walk into stores and purchase specific items which are validated by scanning the receipt.

 

The company has selected OurCart to analyze the receipts. The company seamlessly integrated OurCart’s receipt capture API with its existing app to automate the receipt scanning and data extraction process. The company currently has 23 million monthly active users, has encouraged over 200 million store visits, and processed over 270 million product scans in aisle, as of April 2017.
